How to do it

  1. Position yourself on the floor on your hands and knees, with your hands under your shoulders and your knees under your hips. This will be your starting position.
  2. Round your spine up toward the ceiling, tucking your tailbone under and letting your head drop. This is the cat.
  3. Reverse it: let your belly sink toward the floor, tilt your tailbone up and lift your head. This is the cow.
  4. Move slowly between the two, letting only your spine travel, and repeat.

Watch for

  • Exhale as you round up, inhale as you dip
  • Round the whole spine, not just the shoulders
  • Slow — one breath per rep
